The closing of Parksville Community Center has forced the Guild to find alternate venue for our Sew Days. Unfortunately we are facing the brunt of the second wave of ‘Covid 19’ with increased restrictions. We have entered into an agreement with St. Edmunds Church to use their Hall for our events once the Health Authorities ease the restrictions. We are looking at February being the earliest possible restart date. So watch for an e-cast once we have the OK from the powers that be.
Sew Days are a great time to get to know new people in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
The new venue for 2021 is St. Edmonds Church Hall, 407 Wembley Road in Parksville (behind Save On Foods store). Our hours are 9 am to 3 pm. The fee is $15 per sew day prepaid by e-transfer or in correct change placed in our secure box at the venue. For now, there will no longer be prepaid cards and those with cards are asked to top up the fee in cash.
As usual bring your machine, your projects and supplies, your lunch and new this year please bring your water, coffee or tea and snack needs as there will be no refreshments available for the foreseeable future.
Keep in mind that we try to provide an environment welcoming to all so please refrain from the use of strongly scented products.
Most importantly please note that Sew Days will require pre-registration. There cannot be any drop ins as we are very limited in the number of members we can accommodate due to the Covid 19 restrictions.
There will be an e-cast going out to all members around the 14-15th of each month with directions for pre-registration.
Dates for Sew days 2021 are: Feb. 5, March 5, April 8, May 7, June 4, July 2, Aug. 6, Sept. 3, Oct. 1, Nov. 5, and Dec. 3.
