Dear PQHQG members,
I hope this finds all of you well and safe. Despite not having our in person meetings, there is quite a bit to share with you.
Sadly the first news is to tell you that one of our members died recently, Linda Kummer of Parksville. A card has been sent on behalf of the guild expressing our condolences to her family and friends.
We have all been missing our President, Betty Kozak, who has stepped back to recover from a health situation. While she is improving, she still expects to be off for another two months or so. She stays in touch to get her “dose of guild” and connect, always sharing her unique humor.
Members asked for Payment of Membership Dues by E-transfer! Check out the new “Join Us” page on our website. Under How to Pay you will find the email address to use. For first timers, E-transfers are done through your own online bank account using an email address to send the funds. This is set up so that Membership is notified when your money is deposited.
Speaking of Membership, check out that new “Join Us” page again under How to Join Us. You will find the link to our new on-line Membership Registration form, go ahead and then submit it directly to Membership!
Again this month, our newsletter editor is asking for submissions to the May edition. These might include; photos of what you are working on, what UFOs you have completed or of your work space. Social distancing or other anecdotes of interest to quilters. Send your submissions to email@example.com
There was a Management Committee meeting on Monday, April 20th, using Messenger video, we got the business done but that platform is limited and we will move on to try Zoom.
Along with all of you, we pay close attention to the Covid19 updates. Dr. Bonnie has clearly said that there will not be gatherings of more than 50 “in the near future” or a lifting of the social distancing limits for quite some time. As she has said, we need to invent the new “normal”. Coming soon there will be a virtual program offered, let’s see how that works for us. Together we will meet the challenges of Covid19 restrictions one piece at a time
On behalf of the Management Committee,
