About Us
The Parksville Quilt House Quilters Guild was founded
in 1979. The Guild grew from the small group of students
who attended Flo Conconi quilt classes at the Quilt House
in Parksville. Flo started teaching quilting classes in
the early1970’s when several friends asked her to show them
the skills she had retained from her childhood. Regular
classes started in about 1975 and members of these classes
organized a two-day workshop for Island quilters in 1979.
The guild grew out of this workshop and has been growing
ever since. The guild is the second oldest in the Province
and it was first on Vancouver Island. Members come from
all over the island. The art of quilting has been passed
down from generation to generation.
Our members vary in age from young to seniors, with several
of the founding members still in attendance. There is no
remuneration paid to any guild member or to the executive.
The Guild is solely a non-profit organization, which was
formed to educate, maintain and share the art of quilting.
All levels welcome - from beginner to experience quilters.
